Precise sound reproduction for the live stage

DPA 2012 Compact Cardioid Microphones, in stereo pair configuration, capture balanced sound of the entire instrument and offer elegant off-axis attenuation. The 2012 is a general purpose pencil mic that shines particularly well for instruments in the high-frequency range. With a max SPL, peak before clipping of 156 dB, the 2012, can handle the loudest drums, guitars, horns and more. The 2012 is a robust mic with reliable pre-polarized condensers offering the best all-around, generalist mic that you can find to cover a wide range of close-miking needs in the demanding live stage environment. This mic features a brass body construction and generates unmatched transient response. In addition to the heavy-duty materials used, the surfaces of the mic handle and grille have a long-lasting protective black matt finish. The 2012 has a cardioid capsule with DPA's famously flat off-axis response. The high gain-before-feedback characteristic makes it easier for sound engineers to handle nearby bleed.

Features:

  • Outstanding SPL handling
  • Uniform cardioid directionality
  • Unmatched transient response
  • Durable, reinforced construction
  • Natural and precise sound reproduction
