I Would Fall for You?I would fall for you, would fall again, would fall for another. I would fall for truth, would take your place, would fall for another?. Those are the words from the chorus of the song Fall For You penned by Worship Pastor Marc Wymore of Puyallup Four Square Church in honor of the four Lakewood, Washington police officers killed November 29th, 2009. The officers were in a coffee shop preparing for their Sunday Morning shift, when a lone gunman opened fire at close range taking the lives of all four. The song highlights the commitment of the police officers? daily willingness to take the fall, and lay down their lives to protect the people of their community. For the next few days after the shooting, Marc and his wife were glued to the TV watching news coverage. Marc?s church is not that far from where the shooting took place and he witnessed the effect this tragedy had on the lives of many in the congregation.Marc?s way of processing events like this is to do what he does best, write songs. That?s how Fall For You came to be. Recording Fall for You
Marc is not only a worship pastor, but an accomplished songwriter who has produced several full length CD?s over the past few years.Once the song was finished, he went to see local producer Brandon Bee to ask if he would record the song as a tribute to the officers and their families. Brandon was willing to provide studio time. They also reached out to Drummer Bobby Walker, singer songwriter Trevor Davis for background vocals and engineer Matt Terjeson to donate their time and creativity. Originally, they set out to record the song in two days but good things take time, and it took them five long days. During the recording process, Marc changed the writing credits for Fall for you to include Bryan Reynolds and Brandon Bee based on creative changes made during the recording process. Things Started Falling into Place After recording, mixing and mastering were completed, things really started to fall into place. Bryan Reynolds who manages the Forza coffee shop in Puyallup, called Brad Carpenter, the owner of Forza Coffer Company to tell him about the song. Since the shooting occurred in one of his coffee shops, Brad was more than interested and wanted to hear the song as soon as possible. Once Brad heard the song, he asked Marc to play it live at the Lakewood Forza. Brad called King 5 News and they agreed to send a film crew to cover the story. The live performance aired on King 5 News later that day. With only a few days to deliver the CD to local police officers and families by Christmas Eve, Marc called the CCI Solutions 3 Day Discs team for help. CCI Solutions Donates 2000 Packaged CD's to Help! There was no hesitation in the decision for CCI Solutions to donate the CD production and be a part of this heart-felt passionate cause. Our 3 Day Discs team provided 2000 full color CDs packaged with full color inserts and jewel cases valued at over $3000.
